Home Science Tools is happy to provide open credit accounts to schools, universities, and educational non-profit organizations. Unfortunately, this means we do not extend credit to businesses.
Applying for Credit
Applying for credit is easy! If you are from an approved institution listed above simply fax or email your school purchase order to Home Science Tools. Many teachers include a print-out of their online shopping cart attached to the approved school purchase order, which helps ensure accuracy when entering the order. We process orders within 1-2 business days, and an invoice will be mailed to your organization (Net 30 terms apply). If we have any questions, we will call you. It’s that simple.
Using Your Credit Account
Once you have established a line of credit with Home Science Tools you are welcome to continue sending your purchase orders via fax or email. We will mail an invoice to your organization on future orders as well.
Requesting a Quote
If you require a formal quote please email items numbers, the quantity requested, and the complete shipping address to email@example.com. A quote will be sent back to you within 1 business day. Quotes are sent with UPS Ground service as the initial shipping method; if you’d prefer to have Economy or Expedited shipping methods applied to the quote please note this in your email.
State Sales Tax
Due to recent legislation, Home Science Tools is required to collect and pay sales tax in many states. Sales tax liability is based on the order ship-to address, not the bill-to address. Unless the purchaser provides a valid exemption certificate for that particular state, we now collect sales tax on all orders shipped to the following states: California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin.
We currently do not offer Online Purchase Order accounts to our customers, but hope to soon. Online purchase order entry will be fast, easy, and provides tracking and invoice information quickly and easily.

If your qualifying organization plans to place multiple orders with us throughout the year and would like to place your orders online (rather than faxing or emailing), please complete the Online Purchase Order Application and return via fax or email. Our Customer Service Representatives will contact you with your account information within 1-2 business days, at which point you will be able to access your online account and enter orders online at your convenience.
